The rafter is only 12" apart in the area that I want to install this box in my ceiling. Will this box work or do I need to cut the rafter and box it? Also I assume that I have to cut this box at the pitch of my roof to be flush with the shingles? Can I get a quote for everything I need? I am not sure what my stove is. 1 of the grates says Washington stove works. I attached some pics. The hole at the top of the stove is 7 1/2 x 3 1/2 oval. From the top of the stove to the drywall ceiling is about 6ft (angled ceiling 2x6 rafters). From the ceiling to the highest part of the roof on the house is approx 16ft+-

Answer:This box's dimensions are 12" x 12" square. So, it should pass just fine between your rafters. You'd simply need to add in framing pieces to fully frame in the box as it passes through those rafters. This type of box can be passed through the shingles and trimmed at the corners such that the top of the box can be folded down and secured to the roof surface. We'd be happy to build a quote for you. Could you please provide your roof pitch, your preference of single wall or double wall stove pipe, and your ZIP code so that we can build an accurate quote for you?
