Can you tell me how much square footage this unit can heat?
    By Tyler M. on January 4, 2016

    Answer:
This furnace is capable of heating up to approximately 1,200 square feet, depending on location and home insulation.

By Tim Porelle from Hanover, MA on December 16, 2016
What is the required clearance behind the unit, distance from rear housing to wall? Is this unit MA compliant?

    By Brennan W. on December 19, 2016

    Answer:
This unit is 0" clearance from the rear wall. This is indeed Massachusettes compliant, provided it is installed to the specifics outlined on page 5 of the product manual linked here.

Will this work if electricity goes out?
By Tyler M. - Fireplace Specialist on January 17, 2012

    Answer:
No, it will not work in a power outage as it requires a 110 volt plug-in (standard outlet) to operate. Please see this alternative, if you need a unit with a standing pilot:

Would this unit properly service a 24' x 28' garage with a 10' ceiling? It will have fully insulated walls & ceiling. It has a 12' carriage door with 2 36" entry doors and 1 36" window. I want to be able to maintain 70 degrees while painting but only need 65 degrees otherwise. Work in the garage would be year round. The location is near Rutland, Vermont.
By Collin C. - NFI Master Hearth Professional on November 24, 2013

    Answer:
Based upon the factors you have shared, this unit will indeed be able to properly service the space and maintain the temperature you desire. While the unit does have a bit more capacity than is technically needed, this would be the proper choice, as the next step below this model will be undersized.

    Is this product CSA approved?
By Collin C. - NFI Master Hearth Professional on November 24, 2013

    Answer:
This product is indeed CSA certified.

I have an Empire stand up wall furnace unit that can run up to 55,000 BTU's and when the heater comes on, I cannot hear the TV. How quiet is this Emprie DV55E high-efficiency wall furnace with the blower running?
By eFireplaceStore on June 22, 2015

    Answer:
The internal fan for this model is mounted centrally in the heater, which does a good job of dampening down the noise level when the heater is running. As room heaters go, the fan in this model is one of the quietest that we offer. The sound level is detectable when running, but a conversation can be held or a television can be watched in the vicinity of the heater without a problem.
