I have a chimney chase coming out of the roof.
I'm looking for a flange that will go from square to round or a chimney top that has a square flange incorporated with (or soldered to) the round pipe to make watertight.
See attached pic. I need the flange on the top.

There are a couple of options with regards to capping the chase. We offer a square termination that is designed to cap the entire top of the chase, but the chase must be built to the size of the cap, which is approximately 22 by 22 inches. This cap is the FMI Wood Fireplace Square Chimney Top with Slip Section for use with FMI 8 inch inside diameter Woodburning Chimney Venting Pipe
The other option is to use a round cap, like the item you are viewing now, in conjunction with a storm collar. The storm collar will fit around the pipe as it comes through the chase flashing and will direct water on to the flashing. The flashing itself is an item that we do not carry. A local metal fabricator will need to produce a flashing to the size of your chimney chase, with a hole cut to allow the pipe to pass through the center. At one point, we offered a cut-to-fit flashing for the purpose, however they were almost always damaged in transit. As such, we no longer offer this item.

We have a WCT3042RH fireplace and want to change our chimney cap. We have a 24-8DM pipe (8" inner pipe and a 12" outer pipe). Should we get the RTL-8HT or the RTL-8DM chimney venting pipe?

Answer:We recommend this RLT-8DM chimney cap as it is compatible and will securely attach to your 8DM chimney pipe.

I have the RTt-8DM screened cap now and have draft issues. Will this FMI/Superior cap help? My chimney circumstances meet installation criteria.

Answer:So long as the chimney is installed to code and there are no pressure issues pertaining to the home itself, this cap is indeed a superior design when compared to the screened version and will help with your draft issue. This will also not remedy issues resulting from perimeter chimney placement. If this is the case, installing optional doors in addition to the change in cap will definitely help.
