The Real Fyre Golden Oak Designer Gas Logs by Peterson are one of the most popular models of Peterson Real Fyre gas logs because of their combination of beauty and function. The logs themselves are made of superior refractory ceramics, expanded shales, and aggregates reinforced by steel rods that provide maximum integrity and prevent breakage. The exterior of the gas logs feature handpainted details that create a uniquely realistic look. Adding to the realism are the holes in the top of the gas logs that allow flames to come through, completely mimicking the look of a natural fire. Real Fyre Golden Oak Gas Logs by Peterson provide the perfect mix of authentic fire-like appearance, rugged durability, and maximum performance for your home and fireplace.

This gas log set is a Vent Free Gas Logs Set. Vent-free gas logs (also called Ventless gas logs), which operate with the chimney flue closed, will not give you that roaring fire effect—the flame is not as realistic or as high as you'll find with vented logs. But, vent-free logs are an efficient heat source because 100% of the heat generated stays in your home. You'll often see vent-free logs referred to as "vent-free heaters" because that is essentially what they are. They consist of U-shaped burners with cement logs stacked on top of the heating element. Most sets have a thermostatic control that helps maintain a consistent room temperature. Vent-free heaters add moisture to the air, so it's important to install them in a room with proper ventilation to avoid formation of mildew.

Before installing any gas log system, check your local and state codes. In some localities, vent-free heaters are not permitted. Vent-free heaters are not permitted in bedrooms, bathrooms or recreational vehicles, and must be installed in an area where curtains, furniture, clothing or other flammable objects are at least 36 inches away from the perimeter of the heater. Vent-free heater installation also is not recommended in high traffic, windy or drafty areas.

This Ventless Gas Logs Set comes with Real Fyre Vent Free burner system, ODS safety system, pre-assembled valve, lava-fyre granules, glowing embers, custom grate, and connector kit.

This gas log set is a ventless manual pilot system. The pilot will stay lit at all times. The log set is lit manually using the manual valve on the side of the burner system..

* This is a Natural Gas Logs Set. Please verify that you have the correct gas type.
* The fireplace's Middle Width must be at least 24 Inches and the Depth must be at least 14 Inches for this gas log set to fit. You can calculate the middle width of your firebox by measuring the width (left to right) approximately half way back in the firebox. If you have any questions, please contact our customer service department and we will be happy to assist you in finding the perfect size gas log set. It is recommended to put your firebox dimensions in the comments box during checkout and we will make sure you have the correct set.

It is a perfect addition to my dining room- it is beautiful, heats a big room easily, and is cost-effective. The batteries in the remote were dead when it arrived, and I was sent two new ones immediately. Good service, good product. I'm pleased. This is my second set from this company- one fireplace to go- and I will purchase again from them!

I just love this fireplace because of the remote pilot kit that comes with it. I can set the room temperature and the fire goes off when the temperature is met, and then goes on again when the temperature goes below what I set it at. It is a little tricky to connect it, you need to contact the company for detailed instructions that have not been included in the brochure.
Anyway, it is well worth the extra trouble.

We are very happy with the unit. We burn it in a masonry fireplace that is completely closed to the outside and have had no problem with odors. It is amazing how much heat is generated and we have the variable flame turned way down. Great unit.

I currently have a wood-burning fireplace with natural gas to assist in lighting he logs. The gas is in the firebox. Can this kit be used with this situation?

Answer:

Yes, the natural gas line would simply need to be connected to the safety pilot kit, which in turn will light the burner. You will need to remove your log lighter before installing a gas log set.

Trying to figure out which fireplace to install - we would like ventless, natural gas, and like the RealFyre logs for their realism. But we're concerned that our living/dining space is too small, which would heat up too quickly to enjoy a fire for a few hours. The space is about 30 long x 13w - your calculator indicates we need a max of 12,000+ and a min of 6000+ the fireplace can go between two windows, which are 59.5" apart...our contractor will take care of the mantle... so, what do you recommend?

Perhaps you'd be interested in one of our variable flame ventless log sets - take a look at the below link. Per your room dimensions, the maximum allowable BTU would be around 60,000 (assuming 8' ceilings).
Please note that the below log set requires a fireplace that is 31" wide x 14" deep x 18" high.
