I closed off and insulated my porch; it is 14 feet wide, 40 feet long, and nine foot high. Would this heater heat this room? If so, how long will it need to go from 40 degrees to 65 degrees? Thank you.
    1 Answers
While this is a very rough estimate and this calculation could be affected by many variables, the heater would be in operation for approximately 35 minutes to reach this temperature.

We are looking to heat a 600 sq ft cabin, we need a unit to use where the heat will still come on even if there is no electricity. Sometimes, we have outages in the area and we need to make sure the pipes don't freeze. Will this unit work?

Based on your needs, this would be the ideal heater.

This Empire DVC35SPP direct vent wall furnace looks ideal for our situation. We are replacing a 30 year old, 35,000 BTU propane wall hung heater that is stubby with horizontal outside venting. What is the position of the outside vent and what parts / accessories do we need to order? The building is a 25'X25' cinder block, one room cottage with a small bathroom.

While this furnace should be sufficient as you will need 21,875 Btus to heat the space you have described and this generates up to 35,000 Btus, the existing venting will have to be removed. The centerline of the horizontal termination included with the unit is to be installed 59 3/8" from the base of the unit as described on page 9 of the installation manual.

The furnace is to be located on an outside wall. How is it possible to install a rear outlet kit?
    1 Answers
This unit will already come configured to vent horizontally through an outside wall and will include the necessary components to do so. Because the horizontal run is so short, the unit can draft horizontally, while pulling in fresh air through the outer vent tube. The template that is included in the owner's manual will need to be utilized in order for the vent pipe outlet to be positioned properly.
