Looking for an appealing way to add style and warmth to your room? Consider the Empire Loft Vent-Free Contemporary Gas Burner. This burner works from the wall, mantel, or art installation, but you can also put it in an island. Burns liquid propane or natural gas and via your choice of intermittent pilot or millivolt system. Sizes include 18, 24, and 30 inches (10,000, 26,000, 36,000 or 40,000 BTU). If you want to put one in your bedroom, Empire offers a special loft burner that is 18 inches (10,000 BTU). Created in America.

Please Note: The fireplace's Middle Width must be at least 36.5 Inches and the Depth must be at least 13 Inches for this gas log set to fit. You can calculate the middle width of your firebox by measuring the width (left to right) approximately half way back in the firebox. If you have any questions, please contact our customer service department and we will be happy to assist you in finding the perfect size gas log set.

Does unit require a surround? Does it require glass front? Does it require non-combustible area along perimeter of unit?
The answer would be a "no" to all questions. Please note this product is the burner and valve only; it is not a full insert or fireplace as your questions seem to imply. This product is for use within an existing woodburning fireplace (brick/masonry or manufactured unit that is listed to accept a ventless gas burner).
