No, this hood is only intended for use on Empire's 26" Vail vent-free fireplaces. It does not use magnets.

Yes, this product is designed to deflect heat away from your wall/mantel/TV. This model is designed for use with the Vail series fireplace. There are adjustable universal models as well.

Stunning Flame, Superior Heat - Worth Every Penny!
This fireplace hood completely transformed my fire pit into a work of art. The hammered pewter is absolutely beautiful, and the Crossfire burners produce the most incredible flames and consistent heat I've ever experienced. I'm so glad I made the switch from my old ring burner!
