How does it heat without blower on and can you cook on the top of stove?
This is a radiant stove which utilizes a plate steel design(great for projecting heat into a room quickly) and pyroceramic glass which also heats up and projects heat into your room. This stove has a flat top surface great for a steamer or a pot/pan.

Have only had one fire because of mild weather but this stove performed well.
This stove has some good features. I liked the mass of the stove at 433 lbs. The 5/16 top plate is good and will emit heat for hours. I also wanted a larger box which at a little over 3 cubit feet is good. The fan is quiet in the mid range which is fine. The fins in the side are perforated which allows more heat from the sides to be spread. The epa rating was good at 1gm/hr with seasoned hardwood. The front lip is fairly deep which helps keep ashes from falling out.
Pros
Good price with features that meet or exceed the higher end stoves.. Good mass, thick metal top, 3 cubit ft box, quiet fan, good epa rating.
Cons
The only con I have at this point is the ash lip or shelf on the front seems weak. I tried not to use it as a hand hold to move the stove around.
