The DVL pipe does not fit snugly to the box. Does it require sealant to prevent smoke leakage?
The DuraVent DuraTech 24 Inch Square Ceiling Support Box is designed with an integrated flue extension, which includes an adapter for connecting DVL pipe directly. A slightly loose fit at this connection is intentional to facilitate easier installation and removal for cleaning. To ensure a secure connection, it's recommended to use screws at this point. Sealant is not necessary to prevent smoke leaks at this specific connection.

Can I connect 6-inch DVL double-wall pipe directly to this support box, or do I need to use the 6-inch DVL Adapter? Duravent's online instructions are outdated and unclear.
The DuraTech support boxes that have '-2' in their model number (e.g., CS24-2) include a built-in adapter for connecting DVL pipe. If your model does not have the '-2' designation, you will likely need the separate 6-inch DVL Adapter.

Yes, the support box has a built-in twist lock adapter for the chimney pipe and allows the stove pipe to attach directly to the support box without the need for an adapter.
