*Venting Requirements: This unit requires venting pipe with an inner diameter of 8 Inches. This part is a component in the IHP/Superior 8" wood burning chimney vent pipe system and is used to prevent water damage to your flue or your home because of the hole cut in your roof for the vent. The flashing is appropriate for use with pitched roofs with pitches from 7/12 - 12/12. The rest of the termination may include a top plate, storm collar, and rain cap to both protect your chimney vent and to give it the support and stability at the top that it needs. |

I have a superior model BRF 3875. the duct measures 8" internal and 10" external. I understand this model is obsolete and the newer duct is a little over 12" external.
Will this flashing work for my duct? I have a roof pitch of 12/12.

This one is made for an outer diameter of 12 3/8". The flashing we carry that would work with your unit is the DuraTech All-Fuel Aluminum Steep Roof Flashing - For Chimney Pipes with an 8-Inch Inner Diameter - 8DT-F12.

Does this work on r-panel metal roofs?

This trim is not made for use with metal roofs and the manufacturer of this chimney, much like all manufacturers of UL127 listed wood burning fireplaces and their proprietary chimney systems, does not provide a flashing made for metal roofs.
With that being said, and having experience with installing a similar flashing with an R-Panel roof, you can slit the metal roof so that the top portion of the flashing slips underneath. After measuring the footprint of the flashing at the base and, only after the flashing has been placed, and prior to securing the flashing to your roof per the manufacturer's instructions, you will have to cut the ribbing beneath where the lower portion of the flashing will be secured to the roof in order to provide a flat surface. The remaining instructions are from the product literature for the WCT/WRT2000 series:
"When installing flashing on a metal roof, it is required that putty tape
be used between flashing and roof. Flashing must be secured to roof
using #8 x 3/4" screws and then sealed with roof coating to prevent
leakage through screw holes. A roof coating must also be applied
around perimeter of flashing to provide a proper seal."
