This natural gas safety pilot valve kit by Dexen has a capacity of 82,000 BTU with a 175° hi limit switch. It features fuel-saving electronic ignition and uses a low capacity 3V battery. The assembly is 24" long and has an easily-accessible on/off switch that is located on the insulated shield front. The pilot automatically lights when the unit is turned on. Two D-cell batteries can power this unit for an entire year, and it can be operated with a separately purchased remote control, wall switch, or timer.
Please Note: This kit is ready for use with natural gas only. If you are using propane, you will need to purchase the EILPK kit separately.

Will this kit work with a Flame-tec Firebug and allow flame height control?
The firebug could be used in place of a remote or on/off switch. It would take the place of the remote receiver in the wiring diagram supplied with the kit. To my knowledge, there is no way to modify this valve to control the flame height.

This valve will not operate on a fireplace set for 36,000 BTU.

Where can I find the UL rating on this kit?
The gas log set burners and valves would carry ANSI or RADCO listings. Typically the valve and burner would have to be factory assembled to carry these listings.
