This model is a wood burning fireplace which can be lit with the use of a match. One of its amazing features include Two Gas Knockouts, which has been designed in order to accommodate all of your needs. As a matter of fact, it comes with openings fit for a gas line which is located on either side of its firebox. At the same time, you can also expect to be able to easily add an optional gas log set to the this wood burning fireplace. This unit is not just perfect for your home, but also very easy and convenient to use at the same time.
Venting Requirements: This item requires a chimney with 8" inner diameter.

Can this use any type of chimney pipe?
All of our woodburning fireplaces, such as this Majestic Royalton model, require a specific type of chimney pipe, usually made by the same manufacturer as the fireplace. For the Royalton, you must use Majestic's SL300 chimney pipe, which is a double-wall pipe with an 8" inside diameter and an 11" outside diameter.

The product you are viewing – the Majestic Royalton Radiant Wood Burning Fireplace – is a zero-clearance (ZC) fireplace designed for new wood-framed construction, not a fireplace insert. Fireplace inserts are designed to slide into an existing masonry fireplace to improve heating efficiency, whereas a ZC fireplace is installed into a newly framed opening.
If you are looking to convert an existing masonry fireplace with a wood-burning insert, we do offer wood-burning inserts that come with available outside air kits to accommodate your fresh air intake needs. To ensure you order the correct size, we will need the following measurements from your firebox opening:
- Front width (the widest point of the opening)
- Back width (the narrower rear measurement)
- Opening height
- Depth (front to back)

Can I run the flu pipe out the side of my house instead of out the roof?
Yes, this can be done via the use of 30-degree elbows, as there are no 45-degree elbows available for the SL300 chimney that must be used with the Royalton fireplace.
