Can I put a metal mesh over the vent to prevent miller moths from getting in?

It is not recommended as the tighter mesh can cause restrictions on the vent.

What is the difference between the DVP-TRAP1 and the DVP-TRAPK1?
1 Answer
The DVP-TRAP1 has a short adjustable flue measuring 3-1/8" - 4-5/8", while the DVP-TRAPK2 has a longer adjustable flue measuring 5-3/8" - 9-3/8" in length.

How is this typically covered on the outside?

Because there needs to be adequate airspace to exhaust flue gases and draw in combustion air, the termination can not be covered.
