Does the 72 inch mantel have a 63 inch wide bottom? Also, when you say interior width, is that the top width of the mantel?

Yes, the bottom of the 72-inch shelf has a 63-inch bottom base length, with a depth of 5 1/2 inches at the bottom. The "inside width" is confusing and incorrectly worded, it should actually read "mantel shelf size".

This item is manufactured from medium density fiberboard with a wood veneer. It is black in color. It is also available in white.

What type of hardware is required to install this Pearl Mantels 618 Crestwood MDF fireplace mantel shelf in black?

This mantel will include a hanger board for mounting, but will not include any hardware as this will depend on the type of surface the mantel will be attached to.
