This is a Real Fyre Electronic Ignition Remote Ready Valve System to be used with certain Real Fyre Gas Log Burners. The electronic ignition system does not stay lit when your logs are turned off. There is not a standing pilot light. This feature saves energy because you are not burning gas when the logs are off. It is battery operated, so there are no wires needed. The system does not have variable flame height control thus the flame will always be the same height.

Remote Control Options For This Pilot Kit:

  • None - A remote control will not be provided with this unit.  You must provide a remote control that is compatible with this pilot kit in order to operate the set remotely.
  • Basic On/Off Remote Control (Real Fyre RR1a) - This remote will turn the unit on and off.
  • Deluxe On/Off Remote Control (Real Fyre RR2a) - This remote will turn the unit on and off. The RR2a also has a room temperature feature and thermostatic control.
  • Basic On/Off Wall Switch (Real Fyre WS-1) - This is a standard wall switch used to turn the unit on and off instead of a remote control.
  • Deluxe On/Off Wall Switch (Real Fyre WS-2) - This is a wall switch used to turn the unit on and off instead of using a remote control.  This Deluxe wall switch also has a timer.

* Please make certain that this pilot kit is compatible with your gas log burner before purchasing. You can check this by looking in the Real Fyre Burner Manual or contacting our customer service department.

There is not a tested, listed way to convert this to a 120V supply. However, Real Fyre does offer a very similar EPK-2V kit that does indeed run off a 120V supply (required, no option for batteries). Moreover, this also includes a variable flame remote control, which this standard EPK-2 does not offer.

What is the difference between the EPK-1 and EPK-2 Electronic Pilot Kits?
What is the difference between the EPK-1 and EPK-2 Electronic Pilot Kits?
Both are very similar in that they both provide battery-powered electronic spark ignition of the pilot and may be used with any number of On/Off controls, but the EPK-2 provides a much higher Btu input compared to the EPK-1. For example, the EPK-1 should not be used with a natural gas burner any larger than 24" while the EPK-2 may be used with any Real Fyre burner up to 60" wide. Additionally, the EPK-1 has a somewhat bulky and large battery box as the box houses both the batteries and the control module while the battery box included with the EPK-2 houses only the batteries with the module affixed to the valve. Subsequently, the EPK-2 has a more low-profile battery box which would result in having less-prominent gas controls.
