Can lava Fyre granules be used in a ventless fireplace?

The granules can indeed be used in a vent free fireplace, as long as they do not directly interfere with the burner flame pattern. The granules can be spread around the burner to fill out the fireplace, but should not be allowed to spill over onto the burner or impinge the flame in any way.

These are decorative granules meant for placement around the burner. They are generally designed to conceal the burner system beneath the gas logs.

Wow!
These granules really make the base look great. No metal, no pipes... All covered, and when the gas logs are on they look like real ash and fire. Love this!

Don't forget to order this option - you will be glad that you did!
Finishes off the overall realistic look. And in my case I even had some left over. So you only need one bag!

I cleaned up my 17 year old vented gas log set that the birds in my chimney pooped on for years (prior to my purchasing the house). The Fireside Volcanic Granules for Fireplace Floor look great, but the 1 bag was barely enough for my 36 inch wide fireplace...I wish I would have gotten a 2nd bag.
