I modified my fireplace opening and installed a Vermont Castings Defiant wood stove that sticks out of the opening by 9" and sits on the hearth stone. I have been having a very hard time finding a screen that will completely block my infant son's very curious hands from touching the stove when in use. What is the exact width of each section of this 5 fold black large diameter fireplace screen?

While you may want to consider a Child Guard,
each panel is 13" wide.

My fireplace opening is 59" wide and 34" tall. Will this screen fit okay, noting that it is only 33.5" high? What is proper protocol for the proper size of screen? Do you ofer something else that might fit better?

Answer:This screen is indeed the best option we have for your fireplace. Generally speaking, the extra width won't be a problem as multi-fold screens such (like this one) usually arc in a semi-circle around the fireplace opening, as opposed to fitting straight across.

Is this screen thin enough that you can see through it?
By Collin C. - NFI Master Hearth Professional on June 28, 2013
Answer:Yes. The screen is constructed from a fine gauge mesh wire that will allow you to view the fire with minimal obstruction.
