Does one component specifically for the ceiling (the main level of my shop) versus the top piece, for the second level floor?
By Will M. on December 13, 2016
Answer:The chimney passing through the 2nd level and any attic space should be enclosed, so there would be no firestop needed in the drawing you have provided as it appears there is no attic space. If there is attic space above the 2nd floor and between the roof, a firestop and attic insulation shield will be needed. If the 2nd floor is actually attic space, an attic insulation shield will be needed.

Answer:The dimensions of the box portion of the support are 12" x 12" which provides the required 2" clearance from the 8" outer diameter of the 6" DuraTech chimney.

I purchased this ceiling support box. I was wondering, do I need an adaptor to connect existing it to DVL pipe?
