If you damper plate is no longer effective because it is rusted or warped, you can replace it with this model by Vestal. It can be operated with either the poker or the rotary-style controls. The dimensions of the damper plate are 7" D x 16/5.8" W. The damper serves an important function in the fireplace by regulating the air flow through the chimney and by sealing off the fireplace from the cold outside air when the fireplace is not being used.
