I would like to connect a viper brush to a chimney cleaning rod, what is the size of the connection?
By Kevin E. - Fireplace Specialist on February 29, 2012

    Answer:
IAll of the Viper products come standard with a M10 size connection. This is true also for the brushes. If your current rods have this type of connection, then this brush will work for you.

I have a wood stove that vents to an 8" pipe and a 90 degree elbow up the chimney to a 11" x 7" flue. What size Viper brush should I use?
    By Kevin E. on November 25, 2014

    Answer:
Viper recommends that the size brush be oversized by two inches per the diameter of the flue. For your 8" application, a 10" brush is recommended. Viper does not make a rectangular brush. So, the 11x7 brush will require both the Wohler adapter and the brush adapter.

I already have cleaning rods that are 1/4 inch thread size. What connection size is the M10 that you mention? Do I need a converter to use these rods?
By Collin C. - NFI Master Hearth Professional on November 9, 2012

    Answer:
The M10 connections refers to a metric, 10 millimeter thread size. However, this connector is designed to link the Viper chimney systems to the Viper specific rods. It sounds like you simply wish to use the existing 1/4 rods with a Viper brush, so this will only require a 1/4 inch to 3/8 inch adapter.

I have a metal pipe fireplace chimney, believe the lid is 8 inches. There are two 30 degree offsets and the overall height is about 22 feet. What type of brush and rods do you recommend to clean this pipe?
By eFireplaceStore on July 1, 2014

    Answer:
A slightly oversize polyethylene brush and fiberglass rods will be the best way to clean your chimney. Cleaning from the top down, the Schaefer Plastic Round Chimney Cleaning Brush would be the brush to use. A 9 inch version can be selected from the drop down menu. For rods, I would use the Copperfield 59F Professional-Duty Fiberglass Chimney Cleaning Rod. There is a rod called the 58F that is more flexible, but the smaller diameter would likely cause the rods to bind up, given your chimney height.
