Roof Flashing
April 9, 2012
Easy to install. This flashing came with a 0 to 12 degree angle and made it difficult to get the storm collar on at a level angle.
Pros:
Easy to install
Cons:
Watch out for the cone angle for installation on a flat roof chimney when you go to install the storm collar at a level angle.

Is there a roof flashing for a 6-inch inner diameter pipe extending through a roof with a 60 degree from a horizontal pitch?
By Tyler M. on November 28, 2014

Answer:
There is no such flashing for the DuraVent brand of pipe (DuraTech or DuraPlus), but there is one available in the Secure Temp brand with a 6" inside diameter--please note that this pipe has an 8" outside diameter. It is the Secure Temp All-Fuel Chimney Galvalume Roof Flashing with Storm Collar - 12/12 to 21/12.

I am installing a wood stove and chimney which will go through a ceiling and a roof. I currently have many sections of standard metal single 6" inch pipe, stainless double wall pipe(6" inside 8"outside) and triple wall (6"inside 10" outside). I am trying to figure out which parts to buy to make this happen. I know i need the box at the ceiling but not sure which one to use, which pipe that I have goes through it? Also at the roof level? My thought is the thin single pipe up to the box, then connect the triple wall stuff in the attic and run up through the roof? Any help in ordering would be appreciated.

Answer:
You are correct about the ceiling support box. If you have a flat ceiling in a relatively short room (8' - 9' ceiling), I'd recommend our round ceiling support box. A taller, cathedral ceiling would require a cathedral ceiling support box. Please follow each link below to view these. These links illustrate the support boxes for the triple-wall DuraPlus chimney. If you opt to use the double-wall DuraTech, we'll have to use DuraTech specific support boxes.

DuraPlus All-Fuel Square Cathedral Ceiling Support Box - For Chimney Pipes with a 6-Inch Inner Diameter

In either case, you will also need a slip connector to connect the single wall stove pipe to the support box. The chimney pipe needs no adaptor as it will twist-lock right into the top side of the support box. After connecting to the support box, the chimney pipe will need to immediately pass through an attic insulation shield as it enters the attic space. Beyond that you will simply need a roof flashing and storm collar on top of the shingles and a cap to tie it all off. Your roof pitch will determine which flashing you'll use and how much chimney pipe you will need above the shingles.

Can you please give the dimensions of the vent? I can not find the the roof collar for this. Also, does this fit a 6'' Supervent pipe (Canadian)?
By Collin C. - NFI Master Hearth Professional on October 7, 2013

Answer:
This flashing is intended for Duraplus 6 inch Class A chimney, which has an outer diameter of 10 inches. As such, the hole at the top of the flashing boot is approximately 10.5 inches wide. The SuperPro flashing you also inquired about in your other question is the correct flashing to be used with the SuperVent series of pipe.
