Are your rugs safe for wood floors?
By Will M. on September 6, 2016
This, and most all of the rugs we offer, will be safe for use with wood floors as they are designed to protect wood flooring from embers. Typically, the only damage to the flooring as a result of the rug itself can be avoided by using a Non Skid Pad.

Is this fire resistant?
By Collin C. - NFI Master Hearth Professional on February 11, 2013
Answer:Olefin is a naturally flame resistant fiber. In the event of direct contact with flame, it will smolder and will not discolor beyond 3 inches from the contact point with the flame.

Is Olefin as good as fiberglass as far as being fire resistant? We would like to put it in front of our fireplace in the living room to protect the regular carpet and hardwood floor.
By Chris C. on November 6, 2014
Answer:The olefin hearth rugs will suffer damage if an ember or coal comes into contact with the rug. The fibers will char and somewhat melt to form a hard shallow spot in the rug, but the rug itself will not burn. Fiberglass has a much higher melting point than olefin which would allow an ember or coal to come into contact with the rug causing none to minimal damage. Additionally, the olefin rugs will have a taller pile such as carpet, whereas the fiberglass rugs are very short and have course fibers.

I am trying to determine the color of the green box on the rug. Is it a sage color or more of a true green or an olive green?
By Magan B. on November 28, 2012
Answer:Its closer to a moss green.

What is the thickness? Is it like a plush carpet material, or thinner like a doormat material?
By Collin C. - NFI Master Hearth Professional on December 16, 2013
Answer:Per the manufacturer, this rug is approximately 1/4 of an inch thick and does indeed have the same thickness that is similar to a decorative floor rug or runner, as opposed to the thin makeup of a door mat.

I am looking for this in an area rug size 77" X 116". Would you have any idea where I could find. I had one previously but the dog chewed the corner.
By Collin C. - NFI Master Hearth Professional on June 4, 2012
Answer:Unfortunately, this particular rug is not currently available in a larger size than the 31" x 45" that we offer.
