No, this rug does not require adhesive as it is a synthetic rubber-like material that will grip both the rug and the floor.

Is this fireproof?
All hearth rugs that we sell are fire resistant, but not fire proof. Because they are manufactured from a material that is technically combustible, they will all burn if they reach a high enough temperature. As such, you will likely need a hearth pad, which is usually a metal or tile board.
