Indeed, this product would work perfectly well for your application. However, note that his item is actually a case of six tubes. A single tube alternative would be our RUT-76

I am looking for a sealant that has a minimum continuous use rating of 300 degrees. Does this sealant meet those specifications?

Answer:This product does indeed meet your requirements. The product is rated for continuous duty to 450 degrees and 500 degrees intermittently.

Can this HomeSaver high temperature silicone sealant be used in the fireplace firebox to calk between the draft frame and masonry in the top of the firebox below the smoke chamber?

This product does not have a high enough temperature rating for this particular application. Instead, you should use a product such as the Rutland Fireplace Mortar - 10.3 Ounce Cartridge
. This will work well for bridging this small gap.
