Do you need some sort of seal or tape on these twist lock joints or do you just twist and screw them in place to avoid them coming apart or leaking in the walls?
You would want to follow all of the steps described in the installation manual for your Superior fireplace, but the twist lock connections require no additional adhesive or screws, etc.

No, there is no 4-inch length in this SuperVent product line. Moreover, please note that this SecureVent pipe is not listed for use with Mendota models. We are not a Mendota dealer and we cannot recommend the appropriate vent pipe for your model. You should consult your installation instructions to identify the proper parts needed.
