I currently have an existing direct vent fireplace that I need to remove the old doors and replace with a new surround. I would like something more simple. Can I order something ready made or customized to the size I need?
on November 9, 2012
Answer:We may be able to help with some options for a new surround for your direct vent fireplace. Please reply with the manufacturer and model information and we would be happy to see what we have available for you. We look forward to your response.

I am looking at the Tureen Napoleon GD82NT-T. I see pictures with the chrome surround, but I can't find the overall size or order number. The same look for the Park Ave surround, but does it fit the Tureen fireplace? It does not show the option to buy that surround with it.

We apologize for the confusion on the Napoleon Tureen fireplace. Here is the link for the fireplace itself:

Here is the link to the stainless steel surround facing kit:

Those two items are indeed compatible, despite the name discrepancy. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

I have a 36 x 21 gas fireplace and wanted to know if the Empire Decorative Metal See-Through Fireplace Surround with Matte Black and Stainless Steel Finish - Fits 36 Inch Loft See-Through Direct Vent Gas Fireplaces will fit? Do I have to buy doors too or do doors already come with it?
By Tyler M. - NFI Certified Specialist on May 13, 2013
We do not have dimensions for that particular surround because it is only meant for use with the Loft See-Through Direct Vent Gas Fireplace
. There is no door or glass panel included with that surround. All of our surrounds are model-specific, so we recommend searching for a custom fireplace surround. We apologize that we cannot assist further.

Our house has a existing wood insert. Our problem is a gap between the insert and bricks. The previous owner had a face with a black metal screen to fill it. We wonder if you have any suggestions. We need anything to make it look better, since we really do not want to remove it. There is a 4 1/2' gap on top, 1 1/4" gap on the left, 2 1/8' on the right, and 2 1/2 on the bottom. The first picture is the insert. The second picture is the screen frame. Thank you.

Answer:The solution would be a flat metal surround to cover the gap between your insert and the brick edge of your fireplace. Unfortunately, all of our surrounds are made specifically for the inserts we carry. They are not universal and will likely not fit your insert. As a universal surround is not available, your best bet may be to hire a local sheet metal worker to fabricate a surround to your exact dimensions.

What would you suggest be used to reface an old 1950's metal fireplace front that I can't seem to make presentable with heat resistant paint? How would the refacing be installed? Do the facings come in other colors than black?
By Collin C. - NFI Master Hearth Professional on November 26, 2013
Answer:This will be very much a custom application, as direct fit parts will not be available for a fireplace this old. I recommend measuring the facing of the fireplace so that a metal shop can make a template and cut a metal facing to overlay upon the unit. It could be attached to the unit the recessed head sheet metal screws for a finished look.

I need an insert surround. (1) 6 x 3 would be preferred, for a gas fireplace insert that is 27 3/4 inches wide by 23 1/2 inch high.

Answer:We will be happy to make a few suggestions. If you could, please provide the manufacturer and model number of your insert. We look forward to your response.

I am looking for a metal trim piece for my fireplace.
By Will M. on December 13, 2016
Answer:This appears to be a masonry fireplace with common ceramic tile used for the inside of the fireplace opening. Even if high temperature mortar were used to adhere the tile to the existing masonry, the heat from wood burning would crack the tile, which is what appears to have happened in this case.
In any case, we will not offer any trim that may be used with masonry fireplaces. I suggest having something fabricated locally.

We have a Majestic 360DVS2 fireplace with a polished brass medium trim kit DV360TKMP. I would like to change the brass trim. Is there any option available or would it have to be made to measure? Is it possible to paint it as an alternative option?
By Will M. on May 18, 2015
This trim kit was the only kit available for the model you own, however, the brass trim kit can be painted. Please note that the surface will need to be sanded as the paint will not adhere to the surface without sanding, but we offer a full selection of Stove Paint & Fireplace Paint
that will work for your application.

I'm trying to find either a frame or door that will cover up the front black part of this fireplace. Can you recommend anything for easy installation? Also, not sure what these three holes are (on each lower side of this current metal frame). Can you help?
