I am thinking of installing this through an existing exterior wall that has a stucco finish. Does this facing kit work like a trim piece that would cover the hole cut through the stucco and then be caulked around its edges?

Answer:This kit relies on adjacent noncombustible material being lapped over the face after installation. As such, the item does not act as a trim kit on its own

Can you have both sides use the outdoor glass facing kit? I would like a fireplace that is see through and outdoor rated, but later could be used indoor/outdoor if the homeowner decides to enclose part of their patio.

Answer:This has come up before with this unit and others, but unfortunately, we do not have a manufacturer that allows this sort of conversion to be done. The reason is that the internal gas valve and electronics are not built to deal with outdoor temperature swings and rely on one side of the unit being open to room air for stability. I apologize that we do not carry a unit that can be used in this way.

Do you have a specification sheet that shows the dimensions of this outdoor glass facing kit? I can't seem to find them anywhere.

Answer:Per the manufacturer, the assembled kit will measure 29 3/4 inches tall by 51 inches in width.

Why do you need this for outdoor installation? What if you're planning to surround it with stone? Is there something special about this unit, like different glass, or is just the stainless steel surround included?

Answer:This facing kit is necessary when installing one side of the see through unit to the outdoors, as the facing kit insulates and prevents outside air from bleeding through the fireplace. The facing kit also has a reinforced glass that has a higher R-value than the included glass, which will further serve to insulate and protect the unit's internal electronics.
