How many rods are there with this?

This is an individual 4 foot nylon rod. Unlike the fiberglass rods we carry, the nylon rods are highly flexible and able to be formed into a perfect circle. The trade off is that they come at a much higher production cost than the fiberglass types.

I have a Heatalator prefab wood fireplace with an 8 inch chimney and disc-shaped damper at the bottom. Is this what I would use to clean the chimney? Will the brush fit past the damper? I assume an 8" non-metal brush. The chimney is about 30 feet tall.

These nylon chimney rods are an excellent product for cleaning prefab chimneys, due to their very high flexibility. Most fiberglass and poly rods will not make the bend through the fireplace damper area.
You would indeed require an 8" poly brush to clean the metal chimney. It will require effort to force the brush past the damper, but it can be done. You can use either a 1/4" threaded brush or a 3/8" brush outfitted with an adapter.
