I have a Jotul No. 3 woodstove which has, I believe, a black painted (not enamel) finish. It was exposed to a flood and I was hoping to clean up the finish with stove black. It is not rusted. Can I use this product?

This polish is only for use on an unpainted stove and will potentially damage a painted finish. Unfortunately, this is the case with all polishes that we offer. Non abrasive and non-caustic cleaners are the only items that can be used for this purpose, without having to repaint the stove.

    Does this product prevent rust?

Our stove polishes are intended to bring a renewed finish to cast iron and steel stoves. However, they will not prevent rust. Your stove will need to be painted to truly prevent rust.

    Amazing Performance
I was amazed with the performance of this stove polish. Although it is intended for unpainted stoves, it can also be used as a shoe polish. This product gives off little to no scent. I definitely have this product as a ?must have? on my product list.
