Do they make this fireplace in a lower BTU version that will direct wire to 110 volts?

This particular model is not available in a 120V direct-wire version. Dimplex offers a similar 33" unit with a 120V standard plug-in, though.

Does direct connecting this unit to a 240V have any benefit over a 120V?

If using only 120VAC, you will be limited to just under 5,000 BTU of heat output, versus 9,220 BTU with 240VAC.
