Do the logs come with the kit?
No, this item is only the decorative 3-sided surround for the DVI-36 Series Direct Vent Gas Fireplace Inserts; it does not include the gas logs. As shown in the manufacturer specification sheet, the logs are part of the gas insert itself, while this surround is a separate decorative overlay that installs around the front of the unit.

This says in the description that it is available in a solid black finish. Would that mean the silver border goes away? How do I select that feature if I do want solid black?
Yes, in solid black it would not have the silver border.
