Rustic Oak Gas Logs are made of the same high-quality materials and have the same steel reinforcement bars that all Peterson Real Fyre Gas Logs do. However, these gas logs mimic the 'farmhouse' look of a roaring fire and perfectly recreate the warmth and feel of an old country inn fireplace. The Real Fyre Rustic Oak Designer Gas Logs by Peterson blend the speed and convenience of modern life with the old-world, rustic charm of a simple evening in the country.
This is a set of gas logs only to be used with a Real Fyre vented gas log burner (sold separately). Vented gas logs must be installed in a fully vented wood burning fireplace.
This set of gas logs includes the Gas Logs Only. All other components needed to makes this a functional gas log set (such as Real-Fyre Burner System, Granules, Glowing Embers, grate, grate clips/log locators, pan/connector kit and damper clamp) must be purchased separately or you can purchase a complete set from our Vented Gas Log Set section.
Please Note: Purchase of this log only set does NOT include a burner. Additionally, each set is intended for use exclusively with a Peterson vented burner assembly and is not meant to be used with other types of burners.

Can this product be used in a regular brick fireplace that we used to burn wood?
A gas log set can be installed in any functional and up to code masonry wood-burning fireplace.

Can a cast iron fireback be used safely with these Real Fyre gas logs? Will a fireback give off significant heat forward without damaging the pilot and control lever?
You should not use a cast iron fireback because, as you mentioned, there would be too much heat radiated and possible damage to the valve will occur. However, Real Fyre offers its own firebacks for use with the vented gas logs.

This log set has 6 logs. The manufacturer does not provide dimensions for the individual logs, as they are only meant to be installed on specific burners.
