Empire provides an excellent choice for a direct vent gas fireplace with the Tahoe Deluxe. This traditionally-styled fireplace features black slat louvers and a beautiful hand-painted gas log set. The tube-style Contour burner generates up to 28,000 BTUs to keep you warm and toasty, and the huge window provides plenty of space to watch its flames dance. Remote-ready millivolt controls not only operate without any need for electricity, but they also allow you to utilize remote control and wall switch options.
Venting Requirements: This item requires a chimney with 4" inner diameter.

Please Note: Fireplace is pictured with optional aged brick ceramic fiber liner. This liner is available for purchase through configurations or separately, but the base fireplace unit does not include a fireplace liner.

What is a fireplace barrier screen? What do they look like and what purpose do they serve? As far as the glass of this Empire Tahoe Deluxe direct vent natural gas fireplace is concerned, can it be opened so you can have an open fire?
The fireplace barrier screen is see through black mesh which keeps you from making contact with the glass, as it is extremely hot during operation. Unfortunately, due to the closed combustion nature of the fireplace, there is no way to operate the unit consistently with the glass off.
