For the non-combustible studs, can that be a 2x4 encased in a metal outer layer?
By eFireplaceStore on February 22, 2016
Answer:Noncombustible studs will be made of metal only. They are C-channel studs with a hollow center and are the same type of material that commercial structure walls are typically made of.

Do the logs actually come with this fireplace, or are they extra (additional $270)? The description says they come with it. Also, is the burner actually stainless steel?
By Chaz on December 22, 2016
Answer:This unit DOES NOT include a 7-piece log set. It is an optional choice when you choose your burner configuration, and it is an additional $270. The burner itself is not stainless steel, but the outer design of the unit is.

Can I get this without logs? Can I put a metal pipe with holes and fire glass?

Could I build this piece with marble surround against the brick wall on a roofed deck? Do I need to build something to cover the propane tank as well? Thanks.
By Kevin E. - Fireplace Specialist on January 13, 2012
Answer:Please note that this item includes just the stainless fireplace. The marble surround will not be included. Please download this fireplace's installation manual located on this page. Per this manual, this fireplace can indeed be installed on a roofed deck, as long as the installation adheres to minimum clearance to combustibles. As such, the ceiling height should be no less than 36" from the top of the fireplace's hood. It is indeed a good idea to properly house the tank used to fuel this appliance.

Is the front of this Empire Traditional stainless outdoor fireplace rounded?

Answer:It is not. The gradient on the reflective front in the default photo makes the face of the unit appear convex. However, it is completely flat.

I have an OP36FP72 Empire Natural Gas Outdoor Fireplace that I just installed. It starts up but the flames start dying down after a minute or two and then shuts off. Is it possible it still has air in the lines? When it shuts off it just beeps until I turn it off with the remote. The pressure should be fine because I formerly had a 90,000 BTU gas grill on the same line. How do I troubleshoot this?
By Chris C. on November 18, 2014
Answer:Without additional information, I would first check the pilot assembly and clean it out. If the unit continues to exhibit issues where it will not remain lit, it is also possible that the thermocouple is defective or simply worn out depending on the age of the unit. I would suggest having your installer come out to further troubleshoot the unit to better determine where the fault is.
