Can it be used with a free-standing ventless gas log stove?
This product is made for another purpose and wouldn't provide the decorative aesthetic you might be wanting. To view products that ill likely be more suitable for your purposes, please follow this link. Also, please note that freestanding gas stoves typically do not require any added floor protection like a wood stove would require. The only time a noncombustible, ever surface would be required is if the stove will be placed on carpeting.

This floor pad is indeed a solid material that is required to install any of the Empire floor heaters on carpeting.

Will this work to place on top of a gas floor furnace grill to prevent tripping and burnt feet?
This floor pad is designed to give proper floor clearance for a number of Empire console heaters. I do not recommend covering the register of a floor furnace with this pad, as it impedes airflow and causes the furnace to overheat.
