That's because vent-free fireplaces burn all the exhaust while it's on. You can even install it in that old fireplace and bring your hearth back to life.

Yes, this unit is designed to be framed around with 2"x4" construction. You can see the framing dimensions on page 8 of this manual.

This is a listing for the firebox only. The log set and burner that you purchase to place inside the firebox will need to be purchased in propane.

The rear width of the unit opening is 30 3/8" and the front is 38 7/8. This firebox sufficiently allows for a vent free log set of 24"-30"
