How many BTUs does this unit put out?
By Collin C. - NFI Master Hearth Professional on January 9, 2012

BTU output is subject to the type of wood that is burned and Napoleon rates this unit from an 11,500 BTU minimum, using softwoods with high moisture content, to a 70,000 BTU maximum using hardwoods with low moisture.By Tom on October 17, 2011
Do you know of any Wood burning Fireplace that I can swap out a Gas Fireplace for? I currently have a Corner Gas Fireplace. Would like to put in a Wood Burning Fireplace.
By Customer Service on October 17, 2011
Answer:
We have quite a few wood burning fireplaces that would be able to take the place of your corner gas unit. Our NPL-NZ-26 is, indeed, one of these. Special allowances will need to be taken into consideration when framing in this unit. Please review Napoleon's product manual for this unit. You may download it on this item page. Corner installations are covered on pages 18 and 19.By John on October 17, 2011
What extra components do I need to order to have the fireplace that is explained in the product description. Do I have to get the fan kit, damper control etc.?
By Customer Service on October 17, 2011
Answer:
You will need to select a door and louver option to complete the unit. This will complete the fireplace and make it ready for installation. The blower assembly and damper control kit are purely optional. They are not required for installation.By Jacob from Roland, OK on November 2, 2011
We have an existing home and the opening is only 32", do you have a smaller version or another high efficiency unit?
By Collin C. on November 3, 2011
Answer:
Due to the high amount of insulation that goes into the high efficiency units, they do not have an overall measurement that is this small. The NZ-26 is the smallest of the closed combustion fireplaces that we carry. It would be necessary to re-frame the opening if you wish to utilize a high efficiency model.By Mark Campy from Mellen Wisconsin on November 27, 2011
I have a NZ-26 wood burning fireplace. The bushing on the bolt that the door handle locks onto is worn out, is there a way to replace it?
By Collin C. - NFI Master Hearth Professional on November 30, 2011
Answer:
The replacement shoulder screws that attach the door handle assembly can be replaced and should alleviate this problem. The screws are part number W570-0048.Please give us a call if you would like to order these items.By Gary Schlea from Gibsonburg Ohio on November 4, 2011
How do i go about finding a price for just a new door for nz26 ?
By Collin C. on November 4, 2011
Answer:
While this is not an item we have listed for individual sale, we can special order the door for you. It will fit if the casting on the unit is not the older style. What is the serial number for the unit? What will be the color of the door needed and is it a standard arch or webbed arch?
