Can you explain how this fireplace is constructed? It appears there is glass and a screen. Does the glass move during operation? If not, why do you need a screen? And if the glass is stationary, how does the heat move into your room?
Yes, there would be a barrier screen in front of the glass fronts on both sides. The glass does not move, but it gets very hot when the unit has been operating for a while, so the screen is needed to prevent direct contact and subsequent possible burning. The heat on that glass radiates into the room on each side, and the optional blower can help push that heat further out both sides, if desired.
