Do you have a Insert I can put my stove in it is 28"' Wide by 15 deep by 22 tall. If so what do you recommend?
By Tyler M. - Fireplace Specialist on December 6, 2011
Answer:
I'm sorry, but none of the woodburning fireplaces we sell would be able to house your stove. You may want to look into Martin Industries, as they have manufactured units to house stoves such as yours. By Dimitri from Northern NJ on November 11, 2011
I currently have a masonry fireplace in an older house and am looking to give it an upgrade. Can you tell me what is the difference between a Wood Burning Fireplace, and a Wood Burning Fireplace "insert"?
By Collin C. - NFI Master Hearth Professional on November 11, 2011
Answer:
A wood burning fireplace is a factory built, sheet metal type of box that needs to be installed into a wooden framed opening and finished out. A factory built metal chimney is then used to vent it.
A wood burning insert is slid into a masonry fireplace or a factory built fireplace that is large enough to accept an insert and is rated to accept an insert. Inserts are typically made of heavy plate steel and cast iron and function more like a stove. The chimney will need to be lined with a flexible metal liner in order to ensure the insert functions properly.By niki mcdonald from tulsa, ok. on December 9, 2011
We would love to have a wood burning fireplace. Can one be installed in an existing home?
By Collin C. - NFI Master Hearth Professional on December 9, 2011
Answer:
Most certainly. Manufactured fireplaces, such as this model, are designed for the versatility and can be installed in homes new and existing.
You will simply need to pick a spot that will have the space to accommodate the unit and the associated chimney system that will need to be run. Most chimneys will require at least a 16" x 16" area of space that extends from the unit, through the roof.

Can I use 8" piping at my local fireplace store, or do I have to use FMI 8" exclusive piping?

Answer:
All of our FMI appliances require the use of FMI specific venting components. You may find an example here:
