This tube heater is a great way to reclaim and utilize some of the heat from a traditional brick/masonry fireplace before it escapes up the flue.  We cannot put a percentage on it, but a fair amount of heat is retained and circulated back into the room with this unit.

How does the Custom Firescreen FH Series Tube Fireplace Heater operate without a blower, and if a blower is attached, how is it connected to distribute heat through all the tubes? I'm interested in this product for next winter to prevent heat loss up the chimney.

Yes, the Custom Firescreen FH Series Tube Fireplace Heater can emit heat without a blower, providing some radiant heat. However, a blower is highly recommended to maximize heating efficiency. If you attach a blower, it connects to the manifold at the bottom of the tubes. An aluminum flex tube is then attached to the manifold and the blower. The manifold slides onto the tubes, and the installation holes on the outside tubes should align with the hole in the manifold clip. Silicone is used to seal the tubes to the manifold, preventing air leakage; this silicone requires 24 hours to dry. The flex tube connects by sliding it on, and silicone should not be used on the flex tube itself to allow for easy removal. The blower features off, low, and high settings, and you can operate the FH tube heaters with or without the blower engaged.

I am interested in the Custom Firescreen FH Series Tube Fireplace Heater. Can you please provide the height and the back width of the fireplace?
The Custom Firescreen FH Series Tube Fireplace Heater has a standard height of 20 inches. The back width varies depending on the model. For example, the 5-tube model measures 18-1/8 inches wide and requires a minimum rear fireplace width of 20 inches. The 7-tube model is 25-7/8 inches wide and requires a minimum rear fireplace width of 28 inches. Please specify which size you are interested in for more precise dimensions.
