Does this fit the Empire Breckenridge 32" firebox? Also, how does this item attach to the firebox?

No, this frame will only fit Vail Premium fireplaces and Tahoe Deluxe fireplaces. The frame will attach to the perimeter of each of those units and you will receive an installation sheet with the kit.

What's the width on the outside of the trim?

The manufacturer does not provide dimensions for this frame, because it is only meant and suitable for use around certain Empire 32" gas fireplaces.

These frames are model specific and cannot be guaranteed any box other than those for which they are intended. If you let us know the model of your fireplace, we can see if trim pieces are available.

This option is made specifically for what is shown in the attached photo and will simply snap into place via dart clips around the outer perimeter of Empire's 32" fireplaces and fireboxes.

Can this 3-piece frame be cut to a smaller size?

Unfortunately, no. The frame is designed to snap into position on certain Empire fireplaces and is not designed to be cut or modified for other models.

Empire 3 piece outer frame
Heavy duty frame, gives it a beautiful, finished look...I wish it was wider all around to cover rough opening better, but it helps
