Hello. You are correct that there are unit-specific surrounds for each fireplace. The surround you are looking at appears to be for a series of vent-free fireplaces, rather than the Tahoe series. The manual for each fireplace insert should list all approved accessories, but we are always happy to help verify compatibility. The DVF2BL series of surrounds typically fits the Tahoe Deluxe units. Regarding additional needs, such as covering damaged drywall, we cannot guarantee it will be sufficient without more specific information.
