The blowers used with all Napoleon hearth systems should operate without issue with proper maintenance and use. Generally speaking, fireplace blowers will start producing noise or rattling when they are not properly maintained. As they are positioned at floor level, this can be an issue with new construction as drywall dust can be pulled into the blower housing, causing irreparable damage. To prevent further damage, the blower will likely need to be removed and the fan blades should be cleaned with a dry paint brush to remove any drywall dust or other particles that may have accumulated, followed by a good vacuuming. Please note that vacuuming ash from the blower area should be done regularly after the insert cools to increase the lifespan of the blower. Please view page 28 of the installation manual
for details on how to access and service the blowers.
