In a brand new us stove us2000e, when you look in the flue hole you see a bunch of white stuff, like packing material, it's right on top of the secondary burn baffle. Is this supposed to be there or taken out and discarded?
Is the Country Hearth 2000 suppose to have a steel plate above the refractory insulation?

Are you referring to weight plates that would be above the secondary air tubes and refractory or vermiculite baffling in some stoves? If so, the 2000 doesn't have any weight plates.
