Customer Q&A with Product Specialists

Vickie K. from Ponca City. Ok asked:
We have a wood-burning fireplace with an insert. If we remove the insert would we need vented gas logs or unvented?

If your fireplace and chimney is still in the appropriate condition to burn wood after removing the insert, you can use either vented or ventless gas logs, depending on local codes (if applicable).  For details on the differences between these two and what is best for you, please see our article, What to Know When Buying Gas Logs.
