How difficult is it to install this blower into an already installed DRT2035 Merit fireplace? Will I have to disconnect and remove many of the things located in the front of the bottom to get the blower to the back? The instructions seem to suggest that putting the blower in the back is easy but looking under my existing fireplace suggests it may be a tight fit to get it around everything.

You should not have to remove any component outside of the lower control door to install the blower. Please follow this link for additional clarity.

That appliance can use either of those fan kits. The FBK-200 has a wall-mounted switch while the FBK-250 has a unit or wall-mounted switch available.

I would recommend this item to a friend.
Functional but noisy
It accomplishes exactly what I want it to - circulate air to make the fireplace more efficient. However it does it in a noisy fashion. The low speed is about 48 decibels from a couple feet in front of the fireplace, the high speed about 51 decibels. Both are too loud, causing us to have to raise the volume on the tv mounted above. But it certainly functions and frankly I can turn off the blower when I want to stop the noise. It would be 5 stars if it were quieter.
