Provided you have no leaks or loose joints in the manufactured chimney, the precipitation will be in the fireplace itself or on top of the firebox, in addition to the inside walls of the chimney.

You can indeed use a stainless steel cap suitable for a class A chimney on such a system.

I need an electric chimney fan cap to help pull smoke up.
We do offer electric draft-increasing chimney caps that feature adjustable electric fans to help pull smoke up your chimney. These are typically more expensive and we recommend professional installation due to their complexity. They are generally designed for factory-built metal chimneys, but adapters may be available for masonry types. Could you please provide the size, shape, and material of your flue (e.g., is it a brick/masonry chimney or a metal/stainless steel pipe)?

The base of the chimney cap is approximately 9.25" x 9.25", and the lid is 16" x 16". The height from the base to the screen under the lid is approximately 9.5".

About Chimney Caps and Covers

You should have a chimney cap if you've got an active chimney. Chimney caps help keep critters and debris out while keeping sparks and embers in. If you don't have a chimney flue cap, your chimney might also be compromised by weather damage like rust or mold. Copper chimney caps also enhance the outer appearance of your flue pipe.
