How do I open the ash door on an older Drolet Eldorado stove to allow the ash into drawer?
1 Answer
There is an ash plug inside of the combustion chamber on the floor. By lifting this ash plug, ashes may be swept into the hole and safely removed with the ash drawer.
Can the fire box be separated from the base to install legs on it so it will fit inside a fireplace?
1 Answer
No. Drolet models are either made as stoves (freestanding with legs or a pedestal) or as inserts (no legs or pedestal, for installation inside an existing masonry/brick fireplace). There is no proper way to convert a Drolet stove into an insert.
