What's the difference between the "Napoleon B42 Ascent MV Fireplace, Porcelain Panels, Trim Kit, Natural Gas" and the "Napoleon B42 Ascent Builder Series 42" Direct Vet Fireplace - Electric Ignition"
1 Answer
The "MV" fireplace will have a standing pilot that will need to be lilt manually via a push button spark ignitor and the pilot knob on the valve. This system may be used with a wall switch, a wired or wireless wall thermostat, or an On/Off remote system. This will simply turn the burner flame Off and On. The same accessories may be added to the Electronic Ignition version, but this model provides automatic spark ignition of the pilot via 110v stepped down to 6v with a transformer and control module. While 110v would need to be supplied to this model, it will also have a battery backup that will provide functionality in the event of a power outage.
