I have a brick and mortar fireplace built in 1910. We have concerns for safety so we do not use it currently. How do I begin to check the chimney and fit it for a liner?
The first thing you should do is have a chimney sweep inspect and clean the chimney. He can then advise on your options and installation of a suitable liner.
